Greenfield, IN. – A woman died after being struck by a car on Sunday morning in Greenfield.
According to the Greenfield Police Department, the accident happened around 10 a.m. in the 1600 block of Melody Lane near East New Road and North State Street.
An 81-year-old woman was crossing Melody Lane from the parking lot in front of a clothing store when she was struck by a Dodge pickup truck traveling northbound.
The woman was flown to an Indianapolis hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the car, a 45-year-old Alabama man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
The Hancock County Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating the cause of the accident.
More details about the accident were not released.
