West Ridge, IL. – A 4-year-old girl was struck and killed by a minivan on Wednesday evening in the West Ridge neighborhood, Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The accident occurred in the 6200 block of North Talman Avenue at about 5:43 p.m. on October 1, in the 6200 block of North Talman Avenue.
Police said the girl was crossing the street when she was hit by a minivan.
The girl was rushed to a local hospital where she later died.
The minivan driver was cited for failure to exercise due care to avoid a pedestrian and for failing to reduce speed.
The incident remains under investigation.
