Deputies said a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole in unclear circumstances. The pole leaned on the truck and the Harvard Fire Protection District freed the driver with extrication tools.

Harvard, IL. – A driver was hospitalized after a single-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Harvard, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened at about 2:43 p.m. on September 29, on Route 14 near US Medical Glove Company, 2001 North Division Street.
Deputies said a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole in unclear circumstances. The pole leaned on the truck blocking the driver from exiting the vehicle. The Harvard Fire Protection District freed the driver using extrication tools.
He was taken to Mercy Health Hospital in Harvard for treatment.
Authorities closed Route 14 in both directions from Crowley Road to Garfield Road for around three hours. The roadway reopened at about 5:30 p.m.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
