Police said a Toyota was traveling southbound on Route 163 when it left the roadway and struck a tree near Cemetery Road.
Millstadt, IL. – The Illinois State Police is investigating a deadly single-vehicle accident that left one person dead early Saturday morning near Millstadt in St. Clair County.
The deadly collision occurred a while before 5:00 a.m. on September 27 on Illinois State Route 163 near Cemetery Road.
Police said a Toyota was traveling southbound on Route 163 when it left the roadway and struck a tree near Cemetery Road.
The driver, and the only occupant of the car, was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities shut down Illinois 163 at around 5:46 a.m. The roadway reopened by 9:15 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
