Police confirmed the woman was heading east on the sidewalk when she began to cross Belle Avenue.
Winter Springs, FL. – A 58-year-old woman in a motorized wheelchair was killed after a semi-truck collision on Tuesday afternoon in Winter Springs, according to police.
The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on September 22, at State Road 434 and Belle Avenue.
Police confirmed the woman was heading east on the sidewalk when she began to cross Belle Avenue. At the same time, an eastbound semi was trying to make a right turn onto Belle. The semi hit the woman ejecting her from her wheelchair.
The semi driver remained at the scene after the accident.
An investigation is underway.
