Police said officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle when the motorist sped away and a pursuit began.

Chicago, IL. – Two people, including a Chicago police officer, were hurt after a stolen vehicle slammed into a police vehicle during a pursuit early Saturday morning on Chicago’s West Side.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at around 1:15 a.m. on September 20 near Madison Street and Pulaski Road.
Police said officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle when the motorist sped away and a pursuit began. During the chase, three passengers got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Shortly after, the driver crashed head-on into a Chicago police squad vehicle. The driver tried to run away but was arrested.
The driver and a Chicago police officer were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
