Monticello, IL. – One person was hospitalized after a traffic collision on Wednesday morning near Monticello in Piatt County.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred a while after 8:00 a.m. on September 18, on eastbound Interstate 72 near Mile Post 161.
Authorities said two vehicles collided for reasons yet to be determined. It was described as a rollover collision.
One of the drivers sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
A section of Interstate 72 was closed temporarily following the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
