1 Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into House on Hennig Road in Hampshire

The Huntley Fire Protection District officials responded to the scene and found a Dodge Challenger that had struck a fire hydrant, driven through a fence, and crashed into the back of a single-family home on the corner of Hennig Road and Cameron Drive.

Hampshire, IL. – A driver was hospitalized after crashing through a fence and into the back of an occupied home in Hampshire on Monday evening, according to the Hampshire Police Department.

The accident happened around 7:19 p.m. on September 15 in the 2600 block of Hennig Road near Huntley.

The Huntley Fire Protection District officials responded to the scene and found a Dodge Challenger that had struck a fire hydrant, driven through a fence, and crashed into the back of a single-family home on the corner of Hennig Road and Cameron Drive.

The vehicle hit the back of the house near the back door, creating a hole in the outer wall. The home was occupied at the time, but no one inside the house was hurt.

The driver, the only occupant of the car, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The Village of Hampshire Building Department was notified and a board-up called to secure the damage.

The home remained habitable, and the residents were not displaced after the collision.

An investigation by the Hampshire Police Department is underway.
