Chicago, IL. – A pedestrian was killed after a Metra Electric train hit them during the Monday morning rush on Chicago’s Near South Side, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The accident happened on September 15 near McCormick Place.

Police said the pedestrian was hit by Train No. 308 in unclear circumstances.

Metra said two tracks were released for train movement, but outbound trains were operating with long delays and inbound trains were stopped near McCormick Place.

No additional information concerning this collision was provided.
