Humboldt Park, IL. – Two Chicago police officers were hurt following a traffic collision early Monday morning in Humboldt Park, according to the Chicago Police Department (CPD).

The accident happened at 4:25 a.m. on September 15 on Pulaski Road and Grand Avenue.

Police said two on-duty officers were in a marked CPD and they were traveling south on Pulaski Road with its lights and sirens running when the squad car was hit by a Honda CR-V heading northwest on Grand Avenue.

The two officers were transported to a local hospital in good condition.

The Honda driver, a 55-year-old man, declined medical aid. He was cited for failure to yield to an emergency car.

An investigation is underway.
