Tempe, AZ – A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Tempe near Arizona State University’s Tempe campus, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 1:30 a.m. on September 14 near Lemon Street and Rural Road.

Police said a Waymo was making a right turn and yielding to a pedestrian when it was rear-ended by a motorcycle. The motorcycle was then struck by a third vehicle.

The third vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where they later died. Their identity has not been released.

Waymo officials said no passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The description of the hit-and-run vehicle was not disclosed.

The authorities are investigating the accident.
