Soap Lake, WA – A 36-year-old man was killed on Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident in Soap Lake, according to the WSP.
The fatal accident happened on September 10, 2025, on State Route 28 near milepost 62.
The Grant County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jesse A. Perez, 36, of Ephrata.
WSP said Perez was riding eastbound near milepost 62 when for unknown reasons lost control of his 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Perez was ejected and thrown into the eastbound lane while the motorcycle continued forward before resting in the westbound ditch.
Some moments later, Perez was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Yuri I. Bondarchuk, 53, of Renton. Bondarchuk and his 23-year-old passenger, Daniel T. Bondarchuk, of Renton, was uninjured.
Police confirmed the driver and his passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash while Perez wore a USDOT-compliant helmet.
Perez died at the scene.
The WSP is investigating the accident.
