Urbana, IL. – A motorcyclist was killed after a motorcycle accident on Wednesday night in Urbana, according to the Urbana Police Department.

The accident happened on September 10 on Cunningham Avenue near the on-ramp to eastbound I-74.

Police said a semi-truck was turning left when the driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic and crashed into two motorcycles riding northbound on Cunningham Avenue.

One of the riders sustained fatal injuries following the accident.

The semi driver was given a ticket for failing to yield to traffic.

Authorities closed Cunningham Avenue for a number of hours to give way to an on-scene investigation.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.

The Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team also assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
