Authorities said the woman’s Jeep drifted into the second lane, for unknown reasons, and collided with a Dodge Durango.

Highland, IN. – A 14-year-old girl and a 67-year-old woman were killed after a traffic collision on Tuesday night in Highland, according to the Highland Police Department.
The deadly collision occurred a while before 9:40 p.m. on September 9 at the Kennedy Avenue and Hart Road intersection.
Authorities said the woman’s Jeep drifted into the second lane, for unknown reasons, and collided with a Dodge Durango.
The woman was flown to a hospital in Chicago where she succumbed to her injuries.
A 14-year-old girl riding in the Dodge was also flown to a hospital in Chicago. She died at the hospital.
The other Dodge occupants were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicles sustained extensive damage and debris was scattered on the roadway following the collision.
An investigation by the South Lake County Crash Reconstruction Team is underway.
