Phoenix, AZ – A man was killed and a woman was critically injured Monday afternoon in a wrong-way crash in north Phoenix, according to the police.
The fatal crash happened on September 8 on Happy Valley Road near 34th Avenue.
Police said 33-year-old Arthur Cody Lomeli was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes when he crashed head-on into another car.
Lomei was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The other driver, a woman, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
It was unclear if impairment or speeding were factors in the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
