Police have since arrested a driver in connection with the fatal accident.
San Juan, N.M. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Tuesday night in San Juan County.
According to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on County Road 5589.
Alex Shirley was found in a ditch on Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle the previous night.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have since arrested Alvin Paul in connection with the fatal accident.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
