Carbondale, IL. – Two persons were injured after a traffic collision on Monday afternoon in Carbondale, according to the Carbondale Police Department.

The accident occurred at around 12:46 p.m. on September 8 in the 500 block of N. Illinois Avenue.

Police confirmed a U-Haul truck was leaving a private parking lot when it was struck by a northbound vehicle.

The two drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The U-Haul truck driver was cited for failure to yield to the right of way. He was released with a pending court appearance.
