Police said an eastbound Chevrolet SUV drove into the westbound lane and onto the shoulder before it swerved back into the eastbound lane and hit a Chrysler minivan head-on.

Clinton County, IL. – One person was killed after a head-on collision on Monday afternoon in Clinton County, according to the Illinois State Police.
The deadly accident happened at around 12:38 p.m. on September 9 on U.S. 50 at St. Rose Road.
Police said an eastbound Chevrolet SUV drove into the westbound lane and onto the shoulder before it swerved back into the eastbound lane and hit a Chrysler minivan head-on.
The minivan passenger was declared dead at the crash site.
The two drivers were airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment.
Authorities closed the roadway until 3:35 p.m.
