North Bend, WA – One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday afternoon in a semi-truck accident in North Bend, according to the WSP.
The deadly collision occurred around 1:00 p.m. on September 3 on westbound Interstate 90.
WSP said a semi-truck had a front-steering axle tire blowout, causing it to veer into a logging truck.
The logging truck went off the road and rolled down an embankment.
The driver of the logging truck, 38-year-old Dwane Sukert who worked for Ellis Trucking LLC out of Port Angeles, was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.
The other driver, a 57-year-old man from Longview, was taken to Overlake Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision blocked the two right lanes of westbound I-90 and the ramp to Exit 32 for hours.
The WSP is investigating the accident.
