Phoenix, AZ – A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office sergeant was seriously injured Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident in central Phoenix, according to the authorities.
The accident happened on September 3 at the intersection of Indian School Road and Third Avenue.
Authorities said a white van was traveling eastbound on Indian School Road when it ran a red light and hit the sergeant who was riding a motorcycle northbound on Third Avenue.
The sergeant, who was on duty at the time of the accident, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He was listed in stable condition.
Speeding and impairment were not factors in the accident.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
