Peoria County, IL. – A man killed after a traffic collision early Saturday evening in Peoria County has been identified as 54-year-old Jeremy Englert of Pekin, according to the Illinois State Police.

The accident happened at 7:54 p.m. August 30, on Illinois Route 24 near Glasford Road.

Police said a vehicle was found in a ditch for reasons yet to be determined.

Englert, the man inside, was declared dead at the crash site.

Lanes were closed following the collision. All lanes were reopened at around 10:54 p.m. on August 30.

Police said that Englert suffered a cardiac event that led to the crash.
