Troopers said a Scorpion truck specially designed to safely absorb impact of collision to protect highway workers was driving behind a vehicle that was driving slowly and painting lines on the road and shoulder.

Brown County, IL. – A Florida man was killed after a traffic collision on Saturday morning in Broward County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 1:30 a.m. on August 30 on Interstate 75.
Troopers said a Scorpion truck specially designed to safely absorb impact of collision to protect highway workers was driving behind a vehicle that was driving slowly and painting lines on the road and shoulder.
At the same time, a pickup truck towing a boat was driving behind the workers and failed to slow down and slammed into the Scorpion truck. The Scorpion then crashed into the vehicle in front injuring its driver.
The driver was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The two men in the truck painting lines were not hurt in the collision.
The three men in the pickup truck suffered injuries in the crash.
The driver, a 42-year-old man, and a 50-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries. The third man, a Fort Lauderdale, sustained severe injuries.
No further details regarding this crash were provided.
An investigation is underway.
