Troopers said a blue 2008 truck was heading eastbound on Silver Glen Road, when for unknown reasons, it drove off the roadway at the curve on Old Homestead Road and into a ditch where it overturned on its side.

Kane County, IL. – 63-year-old Francesco Sarnelli of Campton Hills has been identified as the person killed after a rollover collision on Tuesday morning in St. Charles Township in Kane County.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at around 8:08 a.m. on August 26 at Silver Glen Road and Old Homestead Road.
Troopers said a blue 2008 truck was heading eastbound on Silver Glen Road, when for unknown reasons, it drove off the roadway at the curve on Old Homestead Road and into a ditch where it overturned on its side.
The driver, Sarnelli, was critically injured and later declared dead at the crash site.
Authorities closed the roadway briefly following the accident. The roadway has since reopened.
Witnesses said the truck approached the curve at a high rate of speed before overturning.
Toxicology tests were conducted and sent to the lab after the accident.
An investigation is underway.
