Grant Fork, IL. – 21-year-old Gavin L. Schlarmann was killed after a motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon north of Grant Fork in Madison County.

According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at around 2:03 p.m. on August 21, on Illinois 160 near Cherokee Road.

Schlarmann was riding his 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Illinois 160, when for unknown reasons, he rode off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

He was rushed to St. Joseph Hospital in Highland and was declared dead at 3:10 p.m. in the emergency room.

Schlarmann was a Highland EMT and Firefighter.

Police said routine toxicology samples were collected to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

No other information concerning this crash was provided.
