Poulsbo, WA – A 56-year-old Aberdeen man was injured Friday morning in a motorcycle accident north of Poulsbo, according to the WSP.

The accident happened on August 22 on Highway 3 near Equestrian Drive, past Snider Park.

WSP said the man was riding a motorcycle northbound on the highway when a northbound Toyota RAV-4 driven by a 90-year-old Seabeck man pulled onto the right shoulder of the highway. When the Toyota began to merge back into traffic, it struck the motorcycle, which was attempting to pass.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a helmet.

The accident closed the highway.

The WSP is investigating the accident.
