Phoenix, AZ – A 4-year-old boy was killed Monday evening in a pedestrian accident in Central Phoenix, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on August 18 in the area of 36th Street and McDowell Road.

Police said 4-year-old Miguel Dominguez was walking just ahead of his mother in a crosswalk when they were struck by a car.

Dominguez was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The mother was uninjured in the accident.

The car driver, a woman, stayed at the scene after the accident.

Impairment was not a factor in the accident.

No other details were released.

The police are investigating the accident.
