Phoenix, AZ – A boy was killed Monday evening in a pedestrian accident in central Phoenix, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 8:00 p.m. on August 18 near the intersection of 36th Street and McDowell Road.

Police said a boy was hit by a car and was rushed to the hospital where he later died. His name has not been released.

The driver of the car remained at the scene.

No additional information was available.

The accident closed the intersection for several hours.

The police are investigating the accident.
