Police said a bicyclist was cycling in the area when they were hit by a vehicle from behind.
Cottage Hills, IL. – A bicyclist was hurt following a bicycle accident on Sunday afternoon in Cottage Hills in Madison County.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened on August 17, at Stanley Road and 3rd Street.
Police said a bicyclist was cycling in the area when they were hit by a vehicle from behind.
The bicyclist sustained injury and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment of possible head injury. The severity of their injury was not revealed.
The involved driver fled the scene.
The bike was not damaged.
The Alton Police Department assisted at the scene.
An investigation by the Alton Police Department is ongoing.
