Phoenix, AZ – A man was hit and killed by a truck Thursday night in central Phoenix, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened just before midnight on August 14 at the intersection of 24th Street and McDowell Road.
Police said the man was crossing the street against the light when he was struck by a southbound truck.
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died. His name has not been released.
The truck driver left the scene but later returned about an hour later and was detained.
Impairment was not a factor in the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
