Elkhart, IN. – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Friday night in Elkhart County.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on County Road 16, west of County Road 1, just before midnight.

The man was riding a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost control and crashed into a mailbox.

The rider was ejected and was struck by a 2020 KTM dirt bike operated by a 20-year-old man from Granger.

The rider of the Yamaha was killed in the accident.

The operator of the second motorcycle was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
