Pontiac, IL. – One person was killed after a two-vehicle accident on Friday morning in Pontiac, according to the Illinois State Police.
The crash happened at around 4:50 a.m. on August 15, on southbound I-55 at milepost 195.
Police confirmed two vehicles collided for reasons still under investigation.
One person was declared dead at the crash site.
Three other persons were injured due to the collision. Two were flown to a regional hospital while one person was taken to an area hospital by ground ambulance.
All the southbound lanes were closed following the collision. They were later reopened at around 9:00 a.m.
No additional details concerning this crash were provided.
