Troopers said a pickup truck was traveling north on I-75 when it veered off the roadway and slammed into the trailer of a semi-truck parked on the shoulder of the freeway.

Columbia County, FL. – Two people were killed after a semi-truck collision on Friday morning south of Lake City in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. August 15 on I-75, south of Lake City.
Troopers said a pickup truck was traveling north on I-75 when it veered off the roadway and slammed into the trailer of a semi-truck parked on the shoulder of the freeway.
A 58-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, all Homestead residents, were killed in the collision.
The semi-driver was not injured in the accident.
No further details concerning the crash were provided.
An investigation is underway.
