Nolan was declared dead at the accident scene.
Virden, IL. – The Macoupin County Coroner’s Office has identified the teen killed after a farm implement accident on Tuesday morning in Virden as 16-year-old Nolan C. Kiel of Virden.
The accident occurred a while before 11:56 a.m. August 12, on Virden Road.
Nolan was declared dead at the accident scene.
Authorities said Virden Police Department, Girard Fire Department, Virden Fire Department, Auburn Fire Department, Prairieland Ambulance Service, Girard Fire Department, and the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.
An autopsy was conducted on August 13, 2025 and revealed Nolan died of asphyxiation.
An investigation by the Macoupin County Coroner’s Office and the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department is underway.
