Community Service Officer Injured in Crash on I-295 in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL. – A  Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office community service officer was hospitalized following a traffic collision on Monday afternoon in Jacksonville.

According to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department the accident happened at 1:22 p.m. August 11, on northbound 295 West at Normandy Boulevard.

Authorities said multiple cars including a JSO community service officer’s vehicle and a JSO patrol car were involved in the accident.

One JSO community service officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Several lanes were blocked following the accident and drivers advised to seek alternate routes.

The incident remains under investigation.
