Police said a single vehicle crashed for reasons still under investigation. Authorities said there was a secondary collision in the area when a vehicle struck an Illinois State Police squad vehicle.
Saline County, IL. – One person was killed and another injured following a single-vehicle accident on Friday morning in Saline County, according to Illinois State Police.
The deadly accident occurred at about 1:58 a.m. on August 8, on IL-34 about 1 mile west of Harco Road near Galatia.
Police said a single vehicle crashed for reasons still under investigation. Authorities said there was a secondary collision in the area when a vehicle struck an Illinois State Police squad car.
One person was declared dead at the crash site.
Two persons were flown to a regional hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
All lanes were blocked until around 7:20 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
