Bloomington, IN. – Dorothy Kent, 76, died after being struck by a car in Bloomington on Tuesday evening.

According to the Bloomington Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Third Street and Liberty Drive at around 4 p.m.

Kent was walking across Third Street when she was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was making a turn at the intersection.

The woman was killed in the accident.

The 70-year-old Bloomington woman driving the Jeep stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
