Jasper County, IN. – One person was killed in a collision involving three semi-trucks on Monday night in Fair Oaks, Jasper County.

The fatal collision happened on I-65 at the 218 marker, south of the Fair Oaks exit.

A red bobtail tractor was stopped in traffic in the right lane when an approaching blue semi-truck swerved to avoid the stopped vehicle but crashed into a cable barrier.

A third semi-truck traveling behind the blue semi was unable to stop in time and hit the back of the red bobtail tractor. Both vehicles caught fire.

The unidentified driver of the third semi-truck/trailer was trapped inside and was pronounced dead at the scene.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
