Vanlandingham was riding a bicycle east to west across Carlisle Boulevard when she was struck by a car.

Albuquerque, N.M. – 19-year-old Kayla Vanlandingham was killed following a bicycle accident on Tuesday afternoon in Albuquerque, according to police.
The accident happened near the intersection of Carlisle Boulevard and Delamar Avenue NE on July 22.
Vanlandingham was riding a bicycle east to west across Carlisle Boulevard when she was struck by a car.
Vanlandingham died at the scene.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges have been filed, as the law does not mandate drivers to stop at a flashing yellow light.
Officers also said the driver was traveling below the posted speed limit. Investigators determined that the cyclist was not visible to the driver at the time of the crash.
