Billy Blanchard Sustains Critical Injuries After DUI Car Accident at Vegas Drive and Buffalo Drive

Las Vegas, NV. – Billy Blanchard was critically injured after a pedestrian collision on Thursday afternoon near an intersection in Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on July 31, near Vegas and Buffalo drives.

Police said a 2018 Ram was fleeing from the scene of an earlier crash and was driving at a speed of 100 MPH when the Ram entered the intersection on Buffalo Drive in the right turn lane and it hit the curb, drove up on the sidewalk, drove through Landscaping, struck a streetlamp and a fire hydrant.

Hit an electrical box, a bus stop structure where Blanchard was waiting and then struck a water district equipment box and overturned and came to a rest in the eastbound travel lanes of Vegas Drive.

The Ram driver, Roberto Olivas, sustained a fractured neck and other minor injuries. He admitted taking a drink at around 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Casino. He is facing charges of DUI causing death or substantial bodily harm, reckless driving, operating an expired unregistered vehicle and failure to provide proof of insurance. He is set to appear in court on Tuesday, August 5.
