Polk County, OR. – A 17-year-old Salem boy was killed in a car accident on Tuesday night in Salem County.
The accident happened on Gibson Road NW near Eagle Crest Road NW sometime after 10:30 p.m., according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Elijah Jung was driving eastbound on Gibson Road NW when his car veered off the road while negotiating a curve and struck a tree.
The boy was killed in the accident.
Although an investigation into the accident is ongoing, police said it appeared speed was a factor in the crash and there were no indications of impairment.
