Oswego, IL – A 2-year-old boy was killed and 13 other people were injured Wednesday afternoon after a car crashed into a Portillo’s restaurant in Oswego, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 1:55 p.m. on July 30 at a Portillo’s restaurant in the 2810 block of Route 34.
Police said a 50-year-old woman was driving a car when she crashed into the restaurant that was packed with people.
Eight people, including the car driver, were taken to local hospitals where a 2-year-old boy later died. Three of the victims had serious injuries.
Six other people were treated at the scene and released.
No further details were available.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
