Authorities said a blue Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and a gray Toyota Tundra truck crashed in unclear circumstances.

Evansville, IN. – An SUV driver was killed after a traffic collision along a rural stretch of road on Monday afternoon near northwest of downtown Evansville in northwestern Vanderburgh County.
According to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office, the deadly collision happened at around 4:25 p.m. on July 29, on Big Cynthiana Road near Estate Drive.
Authorities said a blue Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and a gray Toyota Tundra truck crashed in unclear circumstances. The two vehicles sustained extensive front-end damage and the Tundra burst into flames after the accident.
The Tundra driver escaped before the fire spread while the Tahoe driver required extrication.
The two drivers were rushed to the hospital where the Tahoe driver succumbed to their injuries.
Officials planned to conduct a chemical test on the Tunda driver, although authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a role in the collision.
An investigation is ongoing.
