Schaumburg, IL – One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle accident in Schaumburg, according to the Illinois State Police.
The fatal accident occurred around 1:40 p.m. on July 29 on westbound I-290 just east of Higgins Road.
Police said four vehicles were involved in the collision.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The accident closed four lanes of the highway, and motorists were urged to use alternative routes.
The police are investigating the accident.
