Oak Forest, IL. – A worker was hospitalized after a piece of construction equipment partially overturned on a construction site on Friday morning in Oak Forest, according to the Oak Forest Fire Department.

The accident happened at around 8:30 a.m. July 25, in the 16200 block of 162nd Street near the water tower on the Oak Forest Hospital campus. 

Officials said a tracked excavator, described as CAT Medium Excavator, fell into a hole on the site trapping a worker inside. The victim was rescued at around 9:45 a.m. and transported to the hospital for treatment.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
