Porter County, IN. – A man died after being hit by a car in Porter County on Thursday afternoon.

According to Indiana State Police, the accident happened around 12:42 p.m. on the Indiana Toll Road near the Valparaiso/Chesterton exit.

The 36-year-old from St. Charles, MO., reportedly walked into lanes of traffic and was struck by a gray 2019 Volvo semi.

The man was flown by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the semi, a 34-year-old from Pikesville, MD, remained at the scene

More details about the accident were not released.
