Deputies said a southbound car crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a northbound vehicle.
Mercer County, IL. – 70-year-old Robert Haskins Jr. of Matherville, Illinois and 63-year-old Michael Millizer of East Moline have been identified as two people killed in a head-on collision on Wednesday in Mercer County.
According to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office the accident occurred on July 23, on U.S. 67 near Preemption.
Deputies said a southbound car crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a northbound vehicle.
The two motorists, Haskins Jr. and Millizer were killed in the collision.
The Matherville Fire Department, Advanced Medical Transport, Illinois State Police, Sherrard Fire Department, and the Mercer County Coroner assisted at the crash site.
An investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police is underway.
