Apache Junction, AZ. – Renee Hoffman was critically injured following a wrong-way traffic collision Friday last week in Apache Junction, according to a report by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident happened a while before 9:00 p.m. on July 18, on U.S. 60 near Goldfield Road in Apache Junction.
Per the report, James Hoffman, Reene’s husband, received an iPhone 14 alert of the accident and he called for help.
Authorities said the 71-year-old Laurie Ann Walters of Apache Junction was driving the wrong-way in the westbound lanes of U.S. 60 when she collided head-on into Renee Hoffman car.
The two drivers were extricated from their vehicles.
Walters was declared dead at the hospital.
Reene sustained bruises, broken bones and concussion and she is still hospitalized.
An investigation is underway.
