Elma, WA – Two drivers were injured Saturday morning in a two-car collision near Elma, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision took place around 10:40 a.m. on July 12 on U.S. Highway 12 at the intersection of State Route 8.

WSP said a 79-year-old Hoquiam woman was driving eastbound on US 12 at the intersection. A 32-year-old Washington, D.C., woman was also driving eastbound on the highway. An emergency vehicle, with lights and sirens activated, was also driving through the area.

The Hoquiam woman failed to yield to the emergency vehicle and crashed into the Washington, D.C., woman’s car. The Washington, D.C., woman yielded for the emergency vehicle.

Both women were taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma for treatment.

The authorities are investigating the accident.
