Chicago, IL. – 56-year-old Shaheed Muhammed suffered severe life-threatening injuries on Saturday July 5 in the Englewood neighborhood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The fatal collision happened in the 6300-block of South Halsted Street at about 2:47 p.m. July 5

Authorities confirmed Muhammed was hit by a 2014 Audi Q5, four-door sedan, with Illinois Plate EP16347that was heading north on Halsted Street.

Muhammed was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on July 10.

The Audi driver fled the scene after the crash.

The medical examiner’s office called Muhammed a bicyclist but police said he was a pedestrian.
