Authorities said Tanner was driving an UTV when it crashed and rolled over in unclear circumstances.
Coles County, IL. – 15-year-old Eli Tanner was killed after a deadly collision on Thursday afternoon in Charleston, Coles County.
According to the Coles County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at around 2:57 p.m. near 20940 East County Road 100 North.
Authorities said Tanner was driving an UTV when it crashed and rolled over in unclear circumstances.
He was declared dead at the scene.
The Charleston Fire Department, the Eastern Illinois University Police Department, the Charleston Police Department and the Coles County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
No other details regarding the collision were provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
